Shelly Love is featured in SohoSoho's latest editorial ‘Weird and Wonderful’ following her return from a retrospective and international guest of Reel Dance in Australia and Singapore

2AM's Shelly Love certainly fits the bill of weird and wonderful. Her work is fantastical, otherworldly dark and beautiful with an undeniable choreographic edge. Her most recent film The Forgotten Circus has been described as ‘Extraordinary’ in The Guardian newspaper review and is featured in the ‘Best of 2009’ selection in Rough Trade Records.

Shelly has recently come back from Australia as the international guest of Reel Dance where her attendance was supported by the British Council. Whilst in Australia Shelly held a 3 day Dance for Screen laboratory in Melbourne as a specialist in movement on screen as an acclaimed performance artist herself who originally trained as a dancer and worked as a choreographer and physical theatre performer before turning to filmmaking. A retrospective of Shelly's work entitled 'The Imaginings of Shelly Love' was also shown in 3 cities in Australia and then Singapore
