MazSpace day 2 - Born Free?
M.I.A has been causing quite a stir in the media world.....
Not many people have heard of her, but in her circles she is well known for her Political activity, a loud voice that wants to be heard and I think her new single 'Born Free' is the epitome of all that she represents....
The 9 minute video explores the issue of genocide but with a western perspective....the victims are of Auburn colouring (Ginger), which really hits hard at the stupidity of discrimination and helps our western eyes relate to the obsurdity of human nature....
I believe its also a subtle take on the plight of the Tamil Tigers in Sri Lanka...which fights against the constant discrimination of Tamils within a Buddhist Sinhalese society.....
So many layers, enjoy.....
